Durant's Restaurant, 2611 North Central Ave., Phoenix. A few months after our previous meeting at Durant's, the New Times reported that new management was making big changes on the menu and food service—changes so drastic that they led to a mass exodus of staff. The demise of the Caesar salad was singled out as symbolic of the new order. On this our second visit, those changes must have been reconsidered since everything seemed the same. A review appearing in the New Times later in the year raved over the lack of change and the Caesar salad. |
