Limbaugh, Rush Treated somewhere in Arizona (Rush Hudson Limbaugh III, 1951.01.12- ) Ultraconservative radio talk host. On his show, Friday, October 11, 2003, Rush announced that he was leaving the microphone for 30 days to seek immediate treatment for his addiction to prescription pain drugs. According to N.Y. Post sources, the place that the highest paid talk show host in radio history would be receiving treatment was the pricy Sierra Tucson addiction treatment facility. When Rush returned to his show Monday, November 17, 2003, he was his typical modest self. "I know the sky probably seems brighter to you no matter where you are," he said. "The air is cleaner, the water is purer, and it's not because of the environmentalist wackos. It's because I'm back, right?" He had a lot to say about his treatment, and a bit to say about its location. "Last Wednesday afternoon I was discharged from the treatment center which, by the way, was not in Tucson." He continued, "We succeeded in fooling everybody on that. It was in Arizona but it wasn't in Tucson, and it was an intense four weeks." Sierra Tucson is not in Tucson. It is immediately north of Tucson, in the the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The N.Y. Post might have been correct if Rush was playing with words. Or, Rush might have chosen The Meadows in Wickenburg where Eric Bent and Ellie Macpherson have been treated, or a number of other facilities.
