Allison DuBois (c. 1971- ) Research medium, criminal profiler, author, title character and inspiration for NBC's Medium television series.
Born in Arizona Lives in Phoenix
Allison is a self-proclaimed psychic, married to an aerospace engineer, living in North Phoenix with their three daughters. On her web site [allisondubois.com], she explains what she does, "I can contact the deceased, I can profile the living and I predict future events." So as not to inconvenience those in need of her services, readings could be conducted on the phone and by e-mail. The Arizona Republic reported that the charge for such a reading was $250/hour. In 2004, Allison published her book, Don't Kiss Them Good-Bye, describing her powers. She appears to have reached the peak of her profession, being described as a "Michael Jordan" of mediums in a review of her book. She is said to have worked with the Texas Rangers and other law enforcement agencies on missing persons' cases. NBC thought of Allison as fodder for a mid-season entry into the ratings wars. It debuted Medium on January 3, 2005 opposite CBS's ratings champion, CSI: Miami. Patricia Arquette portrays Allison as she uses her psychic powers to help police solve crimes while dealing with her rocket-scientist husband, and three daughters. |
